In March 2019, I set out to create a short documentary that captured the atmosphere of Britain during a unique time in the island's social, cultural and political history; a reflective time-capsule for future generations, immortalising the values of early 21st century Brits.
The film was created as a collaborative effort, involving dozens of talented filmmakers from across Great Britain, each of whom captured the perspective of a single person within their community.
Having edited all of these perspectives together, I thought it would be a shame for the conversation to stop there. So I decided to kick-start the #BeingBritish campaign; a national social media movement, aimed at uniting Brits over their common values, by answering the question for themselves, 'WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE BRITISH?'
It is my hope that the #BeingBritish campaign can act as a catalyst for a counter-polarisation movement, allowing Brits to reconnect over their shared values as human beings.
But ultimately, the direction the story takes is entirely up to you.
